Enhancement of local products:
The Souss Massa Draa Regional Council elaborated a policy of development and valuation of the local products based on a dual approach of restructuring of the sectors of production and development of markets.



The Souss Massa Draa Regional Council opted for the creation of an (IGP) PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) for argan oil. This symbolic product of the region has a growing reputation in the food and cosmetic sectors.
With technical support from the Region of Aquitaine within the framework of the PAD, the Region anticipated the adoption of the law creating the distinctive signs of origin and quality (SDOQ).

It so introduced the implementation of the grouping applicants of the IGP Argan (AMIGHA) which was create in June, 2008.
The specifications of the IGP were approved by the national commission on April 21st, 2009.
With the IGP, the name ARGAN will be protected. This initiative will bring to the consumer a guarantee of origin, quality and traceability and to the producer a fairer part of the added value of the product.
Management and exploitation of water resources:
The Souss Massa Draa region developed and implemented a comprehensive strategy for economic and valuation of the water.
The objective is to restore a balance between resources and water demand in 2015 with a saving of 100 million m ³ per year resulting from a modification in irrigation systems.

The agency of the hydraulic basin Souss Massa Draa insures the implementation of the program according to framework convention and a contract for groundwater. The accompanying of the Region Aquitaine within the framework of the PAD concerns the transfer of technologies and skills in the field of piloting of the irrigation.
The partners are: Agrotech, Gie Fruits and Vegetables and the transfer station technology APEFEL.

A training component engineers specializing in water management is under way between the IVA, the agricultural center of Saint Livrade training and ENITA Bordeaux.
Development of training:
The universities of both regions have developed a transfer of skills training in priority sectors for the economy of Souss Massa Draa Region.

The partnership has resulted in the establishment of a professional license in the sector of the cinema, local products and seafood, and a master in the agribusiness sector.
Environment and ecotourism:
The partnership between the National park Souss Massa and the ornithological park of TEICH allowed the training of the executives of the park and the distribution of a communication on the animal reserve and a bald ibis.
