« Region Souss Massa Draa, land of Excellence ». Is the slogan adopted today for our vast territory. A slogan that reflects the potential of the region, its wealth and opportunities, and above all his ambition and desire to grow.
The strategy of development drawn by the previous office, that is in perfect consistency with the priorities of the regional development gave birth to a considerable number of projects and had succeeded to the opening of various yards.This strategy relies on three engines of growth, namely tourism, agriculture and fisheries. It has also opened new opportunities in the areas of craft and cinema. Without forgetting the efforts for the setting to level and the safeguard of the balances in the sectors of water, health, the education, the rehabilitation of the cities, the transportation and environment. The balance positive of the realizations of the office, in spite of the various constraints and the work conditions sometimes are difficult, it reflect its dynamism and perseverance.
Our current office will continue to assure the continuity and the outcome of construction sites opened with the same dynamism and the same voluntarism, following the directives of the strategy of development. And according to the new realities on the ground, this development strategy will be updated, and the council will continue its pioneering role in the socio-economic and cultural development of the Region.
Key sectors of the regional economy will continue to receive all the support and guidance of the Board during the term 2010-2015 are among other rationalization and management of water resources, the valuation and the promotion of the regional tourist destinations of host countries,the promotion of vocational training, upgrading the health and education are the real indicators of human development, infrastructure building and the preservation and enhancement of cultural and artistic heritage.
The new office of the Regional Council would not miss to pursue the policy of international opening through the decentralized cooperations maintained with French communities, the cooperation with the Canary Islands and the Region of Fatick. It also longs to develop new cooperations to open the perspectives of collaboration and international exchanges.
